NYFRS Fire Safety Campaign launch

Please find details of a Community Fire Safety campaign that will be running throughout North Yorkshire over the next four weeks.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (NYFRS) has worked with The Union Advertising Agency in Leeds to produce an innovative and hard hitting campaign.

Despite the well publicised successes of our 125 Alive vision and other ongoing Community and Fire Safety initiatives we continue to see regular incidents involving cooking fires and sadly we have had four fire fatalities involving elderly people in North Yorkshire over the last 18 months.

Therefore this campaign has been devised to reach two target audiences;

  1. Elderly / vulnerable residents and
  2. People who continue to use chip pans and those who leave cooking unattended.


A varied approach has been taken with regards to the media types being used to push the messages home. These include graphics both inside and externally on buses operating throughout the County, Post Office TV screens, pharmacy bags, flyers through doors and adverts in local press and on local independent radio stations.
