Incident Summary Night Shift Wednesday 12th February 2020

13th February 2020

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.


Richmond – Time of call 1817

Richmond and Colburn crews attended following a fire alarm activation. On arrival, crew confirmed a small fire had occurred to food packing on a hob. Fire out on arrival of fire service. Inspection only. Advice given.


Towthorpe Road, Huntington area, York – Time of call 1822

Huntington crew attended following a road traffic collision. One female driver in care of Ambulance personnel. Crews extinguished a small fire behind dashboard and made vehicle safe, before leaving the scene.


Beal, Selby – Time of call 1848

Selby crew attended following a report of smoke sighted in the area. Crew confirmed this to be controlled burning, under supervision. No action taken.


Parliament Street, Harrogate - Time of call 1902

Harrogate crew assisted in gaining access to a property after the occupier became locked out and had left a pan on the hob inside. Lock snapper and small tools used.


Catterick Garrison – Time of call 1914

Richmond and Colburn crews responded to a report of a fire in a derelict property. Fire in voids and joists of the floor, extinguished by crews using hose reels, small tools and dewalt saw. Incident left in hands of Police.


Malton – Time of call 1938

Both Malton crews and an officer attended a single vehicle road traffic collison. One female trapped, not medically but due to position of car. High pressure airbags, lighting and small tools used by Fire and Rescue crews to enable safe release of female from vehicle.  Female checked over by paramedics on scene. Incident left in hands of Police.


Huntington area – Time of call 2102

York crew attended following a report of a fire in the open. Crews extinguished a fire in the rear garden of a property. One hose reel jet used. Advice given to occupier.


Barden Lane, Barden, Leyburn area – Time of call 2131

Leyburn crew attended and extinguished a chimney fire. 9 metre ladder, chimney kit and thermal image camera and small tools used to extinguish the fire. Advice given to occupier.


Crews from York and Huntington attended automatic alarm activations during the night, all were false alarms.
