NYFRS Daily Bulletin - Night shift Saturday 20th July 2019

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round up we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages where incidents have occurred.


Location: Skipton Road, Embsay

Our crews were mobilised to reports of a 2 vehicle road traffic collision with possible persons trapped. Upon arrival our crews found 2 vehicle collision, all person out upon arrival and we left the incident in the hands of the police with no specific action taken.

Location: Flamingo Land, Kirby Misperton 

Our Pickering crew were called to assist after a female reported her baby had accidentally being locked in the car. Fortunately the parents were able to release the child prior to our arrival and our crews were returned.

Location: Raincliffe Woods, Throxenby, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough attended reports of a small fire left unattended in the woods. After locating the fire crews used a wildfire backpack and spade to extinguish it. The cause is believed to have been deliberate.

Location: Ingleton

Bentham fire crew were called after a report of a 4 yr old child being locked in a house with their grand parent outside. Our fire crew were able to coax the child into unlocking the door to allow access and for them to be reunited.

Location: Pannel, Harrogate

Harrogate fire crews were called after a homeowner reported a fire to their fuse board in the garage attached to their house. The fire was out upon our arrival and caused damage to the fuse board and light smoke logging throughout the property. Our crews inspected the scene for safety and fire spread using a thermal imaging camera and requested the attendance of the electricity board. The cause of the fire is believed to have been due to an electrical fault.

Location: Duchy Road, Harrogate 

Harrogate, Knaresborough and Boroughbridge crews were mobilised to reports of smoke in a property. The incident involved a fire to a grill pan left unattended. The fire was out upon our arrival and remained confined to the pan. It caused light smoke logging to the property. Our crews assisted in providing oxygen to an elderly resident who was then transported to hospital for precautionary checks.


We’ve also taken a number of automatic fire alarm activations from various locations across the County which resulted in false alarms.
