Incident Summary – Night Shift Saturday 23rd March 2019

 

 

 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 

 

 

17:39     Cawood, Selby

 

A fire crew from Selby attended a chimney fire at a residential property. Crews used a Hose Reel to cool the chimney from the outside and also chimney rods to assist in extinguishing the fire.

 

 

 

18:41     Kirkby Overblow

 

A fire crew from Harrogate attended a residential property where the smoke alarm had activated. On arrival and after investigation this had sounded due to cooking fumes from within the property.

 

 

 

19:24     Bawtry Road, Selby

 

A fire crew from Selby and Snaith attended a small fire inside an advertising A-Frame in a layby. A small amount of grass and rubbish had been set alight; crews used a bucket of water to extinguish.

 

 

 

19:27     A1, Scotch Corner

 

Fire crews from Richmond, Colburn and Darlington attended an RTC where a tanker was on its side in the middle of the road. No persons were trapped and fire crews dealt with containing a spillage from the vehicle and also scene safety.

 

 

 

19:30     Burniston, Scarborough

 

A fire crew from Scarborough were called to reports of a fire in a field. On arrival crews found this to be from a previous fire and was burnt out. No action was taken.

 

 

 

19:58     Scarborough

 

Two fire crews were called to a residential property to reports of burning froma plug socket. On arrival crews found no sign of fire and isolated the electrics.

 

 

 

20:19     Stockton on Forest, York

 

A fire crew from Huntington attended a chimney fire at a residential property. Crews used chimney rods, chimney hose, thermal imaging camera, hearth kit and small tools to extinguish the fire.

 

 

 

21:21     Lythe

 

A fire crew from Lythe attended reports of an alarm sounding at a property. On arrival this was a false alarm.

 

 

 

22:45     Off Salisbury Road, York

 

 Fire crews from Acomb and York attended a kitchen fire at a residential property. This was out on arrival, a slow cooker left on a hob.

 

 

 

01:51     Settle

 

Fire crews from Settle attended reports of an alarm sounding at a commercial property. On arrival this was found to be a false alarm.

 

 

 

02:10     Ripon

 

A fire crew from Ripon attended reports of an alarm sounding at a residential property. On inspection this was found to be a false alarm.

 

 

 

02:28     Acomb

 

Crew were mobilised to a report of smoke from a large amount of rubbish. This was a false alarm due to steam.

 

 

 

03:31     York

 

Crew were mobilised to a report of a bin on fire. This was extinguished using 1 hose reel. Cause was believed to have been deliberate.

 

 

 

04:23     York

 

Crew were mobilised to a report of a fire alarm sounding in a premises. This was a false alarm due to an accidental activation.

 

 

 

04:48     Settle

 

Fire crews from Settle attended reports of an alarm sounding at a commercial property. On arrival this was found to be a false alarm.

 

 

 

06:11     Scarborough

 

Crew were mobilised to a report of a fire alarm sounding in a premises. This was a false alarm, cause unknown, no sign of fire.
