Crews have attended a number of automatic fire alarms across the county. Thankfully all of these have been false alarms.

 

In addition to these we have attended numerous reports of fires in the open however on arrival of our crews this was found to be controlled burning therefore no action taken.

 

 

 

 

 

Hunmanby, Filey

 

Time of call: 19:20

 

 

 

Crews from Filey have extinguished a small fire in open land. Crews used a wildfire backpack to extinguish.

 

 

 

Cayton, Scarborough

 

Time of call: 19:31

 

 

 

Crews from Scarborough and Malton have rescued a horse that had become stuck in a small beck due to steep banks either side. Crews used the animal rescue equipment from Malton and a neighbouring farm’s telehandler to lift the horse out of the beck.

 

 

 

Filey Road, Scarborough

 

Time of call: 20:39

 

 

 

Crews form Sherburn, Scarborough and Filey have extinguished a cricket pavilion on fire. Crews used two breathing apparatus, two hose reels and two main jets. The fire caused 100% fire damage and the cause is still being investigated by our fire investigation officers.

 

 

 

Sweetbecks Close, Scarborough

 

Time of call: 22:03

 

 

 

Crews form Filey have extinguished a small amount of rubbish on fire in a rear garden using a hose reel jet.
