Incident Summary –Night shift –Saturday 11th May

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred:

Olivers Mount Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 1812

Scarborough crews extinguished a rubbish fire measuring 10m x 10m using 1 hose reel jet. The cause of the fire was deliberate.

Germany Lane, York

Time of call: 1912

York crew used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish a small amount of fly tipped rubbish on fire. The cause of the fire was deliberate.

A169, Blue Bank, Sleights

Time of call: 1955

Appliances from Whitby and Lythe along with a volunteer crew from Goathland attending a 2 vehicle road traffic collision that subsequently caused both vehicles to catch fire. Both male drivers of the vehicle were out on arrival and taken to hospital via road ambulance with unknown injuries. Crews extinguished the fire using 4 breathing apparatus, 1 main jet, 1 hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera. Both vehicles suffered 100% fire damage.

Huntington, York

Time of call: 2117

Huntington attended a garden shed on fire to the rear of a domestic property. The fire caused 100% fire damage to the shed and approx. 8m of fencing. Crews used 2 hose reel jets, lighting, thermal imaging camera, ceiling hook and triple extension ladder to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is believed to be due to an electrical fault.

Ellingstring

Time of call: 2251

Masham attended an automatic fire alarm at a domestic property, this was false alarm caused by smoke from a log burning.

Fewster Way, York

Time of call: 0019

York attended an automatic fire alarm at a hotel, this was false alarm caused by malicious activation of a call point.
