Please see below a round up of incidents from Monday 8th October Night Shift

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Scarborough Fire Station, North Marine Road – time of call: 18.00

Crews removed a ring that was stuck on a finger of a 8 year old child. The child and parents called into Scarborough station and a ring cutter was used.

Cinder track near to Hibernia Street, Scarborough – time of call 18.24

An appliance from Scarborough extinguished a small grass fire on the Cinder track, crews used 1 hose reel to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire was deliberate.

Doriam Drive, York – time of call 20.08

Huntington attended an automatic fire alarm at a residential address, this was a false alarm caused by dust in the detector head.

Heslington Lane, York – time of call: 21.40

Appliances from York and Acomb along with an Incident Support Unit from Tadcaster attended a road traffic collision involving a Renault van and 2 parked cars. The driver of the van was out on arrival and was treated on scene by paramedics for minor injuries. The van was carrying refrigerator cylinders and these were inspected by crews and removed from the vehicle as a precaution by the fire service. Crews used a thermal imaging camera, gas detector and a hose reel jet at this incident.

Bark House Bank, Bishop Thornton – time of call: 23.36

 Two appliances from Harrogate attended a single vehicle road traffic collision with a Toyota Corolla in a ditch. A  male casualty suffered suspected head and chest injuries and was removed from the vehicle using a longboard by fire and paramedic crews before being transported to hospital via road ambulance.   

A59, Moor Monkton

 Crews from York and Acomb were mobilised to a report of a 2 vehicle road traffic collision. Crews used hydraulic cutting gear to remove persons from vehicle.
