Incident Summary –NightShift Saturday 20th June 

 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred: 

 

20:19    Thirsk 

 

Fire crews from Thirsk and Nothallerton attended reports of a fire alarm sounding and a smell of smoke in a property. On arrival crews found the property to be heavily smoke logged and after investigation found the smoke to be coming from a toilet roll and holder due to ash from a cigarette being dropped onto it. Crews used a hose reel jet, 2 breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera whilst at the incident.  

 

21:45      Kirkbymoorside 

 

A fire crew from Kirkbymoorside attended a commercial property where an alarm was sounding. On investigation this was found to be sounding due to a fault on the system.  

 

22:44  Pickering 

 

Fire crews from Pickering attended reports of a fire in a car park. On arrival crews found this to be a camp fire which had already been extinguished by people camping in the carpark. Fire safety advice was given to the occupants and crews added an extra bucket of water onto the fire to ensure this was fully extinguished.  

 

00:19  Harrogate 

 

A fire crew from Harrogate were called to a fire in the rear garden of a property. On arrival crews found this to be controlled burning with the owners in attendance. Crews gave advice to the occupier. 

 

01:31  York 

 

A fire crew from York were called to an incident where a fire alarm was sounding at a residential property. On arrival crews found this to be the intruder alarm which was sounding and no one was home. A full external search was carried out at the property. 

 

03:05 Harrogate 

 

A Fire crew From Harrogate responded to an automatic alarm activation at a residential property. This was a false alarm due to the deliberate activation of a break glass point. 

 

04:49 Pickering 

 

Fire crews from Pickering attended an automatic alarm sounding at a residential property, this was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.
