Incident Summary Day Shift Wednesday 15th May 2019

15th May 2019

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 Gildercliffe, Scarborough – Time of call 08:10

Scarborough crews responded to a caravan fire, crews extinguished using 2 hose reel jets, a thermal imaging camera and hooligan tool. 1 male treated on scene by ambulance for smoke inhalation.

Scarborough – Time of call 08:18

Crews from Filey responded to an automatic alarm activation, this was a false alarm due to testing.

Easby – Time of call 08:31

Crews from Richmond responded to a car smoking, crews inspected only. Ambulance crews checked a young girl for potential smoke inhalation.

Selby – Time of call 09:09

Crews from Selby, Huntington and Snaith responded to a roof fire at a commercial property. Crews used a thermal imaging camera. Fire was extinguished using to hose reel jets by on site fire crews.

Leeds Road, Harrogate – Time of call 09:24

Crews from Harrogate responded to a cooker fire in a residential property, fire was out on arrival but crews inspected and ventilated property. Crews gave first aid an oxygen therapy to a female suffering smoke inhalation, female taken to hospital via road ambulance suffering smoke inhalation.

Bickerton – Time of call 09:30

Crews from Tadcaster and Wetherby responded to a two vehicle road traffic collsion, crews released 1 trapped person using stabalisation and hydraulic cutting equipment, a resipricating saw and traps. 1 female taken to hospital via road ambulance suffering spinal injuries.

Harrogate – Time of call 12:46

Crews from Harrogate responded to a microwave fire at a residential property, fire out on arrival. Nothing used by crews.

Coney Street, York – Time of call 13:46

Crews from York and Acomb responded to calls of a light smoking inside a commercial property. Crews isolated electricity and used thermal imaging camera.

Dunslow Road, Scarborough – Time of call 14:15

Crews from Scarborough responded to a 2 vehicle road traffic collision, Fire Service not required.

Selby – time of call 15:27

Crews from Selby and Snaith responded to a 2 vehicle road traffic collision on the M62, crews used small tools to disconnect the battery.

Bad Bargain Lane York – Time of call 15:35

Crews from York and Huntington responded to a rubbish fire outside a residential property. Crews extinguished using 1 hose reel jet used.

Robin Hoods Bay Road, Whitby – Time of call 15:40

Crews from Whitby and Lythe responded to a single vehicle road traffic collision, 1 female released from vehicle using hydraulic cutting equipment and small tools. 1 female transported to hospital via road ambulance suffering shoulder injuries

Duchy Road, Harrogate – Time of call 15:50

Crews from Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon, Boroughbridge and Huntington are currently in attendance at a semi detached property on fire **incident currently ongoing**

This incident involved a fire to 3 storey house. The fire caused 100% fire damage to the room of origin and 50% fire and some damage to the rest of the 1st floor. There was also fire, heat and smoke damage to the rest of the property.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined by fire investigation officers.

Crews use a number of ladders, working at height equipment and small tools. Along with 4 hose reel jets and 2 small jets. 

Crews will be revisiting the scene on the 16th May.
