Incident Summary – Day Shift Saturday 24th October 2020

 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 

 

Location: Whitby

Time of call: 08:34

Crew from Whitby responded to a bin on fire in the local area. On arrival they used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. The believed cause of this was a dropped cigarette.

 

Location: Ripon

Time of call: 09:37

Crew from Ripon responded to an automatic fire alarm at a residential property. This turned out to be a false alarm caused by cooking fumes.

 

Location: Clementhorpe, York

Time of call: 12:13

Crews from York and Acomb responded to an automatic fire alarm at a residential property. This turned out to be a false alarm with the cause unknown.

 

Location: Harrogate

Time of call: 12:20

Crew from Harrogate responded to reports of 4 people trapped in a lift. The lift car was stuck approx. 25cm above the ground floor. Crews attempted to gain entry using the lift mechanism but this failed. Crews ended up using small tools and hydraulic spreaders to force entry to the lift to free the occupants.

 

Location: Scarborough

Time of call: 15:14

Crews from Scarborough attended a property after reports that approx. 3 sections of balcony had come lose and were presenting a danger. Inspection only carried out and advice given to the owner of the building.

 

Location: Beningbrough

Time of call: 16:14

Crew from Acomb responded to an automated fire alarm at a property in the Beningbrough area. This turned out to be a false alarm caused by smoke from a log burner.
