Incident Summary Day Shift Sunday 8th September 2019

7th September 2019

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Ripon – Time of call 0928

Crews from Ripon and Boroughbridge responded to a tumble dryer fire at a residential property.Crews extinguished using 1 hose reel jet, 2 breathing apparatus, a positive pressure ventilation fan, a thermal imaging camera and small tools.

Thimbleby – Time of call 1029

Crews from Northallerton and Thirsk responded to a late call for a grain dryer on fire. The fire was out on arrival and crews dampened down hotspots and conducted thermal scans. Crews used 1 hose reel jet, a triple extension ladder and a thermal imaging camera.

York – Time of call 1122

Crews from Acomb and York responded to calls of smoke issuing from a washing machine at a residential property. Crews removed the appliance and inspected using a thermal imaging camera.

 York – Time of call 1149

York crews responded to calls of smoke being sited in the open near a commercial property, this was a false alarm due to smoke from a biomass burner.

York – Time of call 1356

Acomb and Huntington crews responded to calls of a kitchen fire at a resindetial property. This was a false alarm due to burnt toast and crews ventilated using a positive pressure ventilation fan.

 York – Time of call 1517

Huntington crews responded to an automatic alarm activation at a residential property, this was a false alarm.

Selby – Time of call 1531

Selby crews responded to a child locked inside a vehicle, crews released unharmed using keys.

Escrick Time of call 1543

Crews from Selby and Acomb responded to a field fire of standing crops measuring approximately 100 metres. Crews extinguished using 2 hose reel jets and beaters.

Sherburn – Time of call 1605

Crews from Scarborough are currently dealing with a large amount of hydraulic oil leaking onto a road. Incident still ongoing.
