Incident Summary Day Shift Friday 24th May 2019

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.




York – Time of call 08:03


Crews from Acomb responded to an automatic alarm activation, this was a false alarm due to smoking materials.


Ripon – Time of call 09:20


Ripon crews responded to a rubbish fire on the porch of a residential property that spread to a nearby fence and bird house. Crews extinguished using 1 hose reel, a thermal imaging camera, 2 breathing apparatus, small tools and a triple extension ladder. Crews also gave first aid to 2 males suffering from burns and smoke inhalation. 1 male went to hospital via road ambulance.


Selby – Time of call 10:01


Crews from Selby responded to a 15 year old child with a finger trapped in a chair. Crews released using small tools and hydraulic cutting equipment.


Northallerton – Time of call 11:08


Crews from Northallerton responded to a baby locked in a car, crews used small tools to release.


Northallerton – Time of call 11:09


Crews from Northallerton responded to a planter on fire outside a residential property, crews used 1 hose reel to extinguish.


Tadcaster – Time of call 11:22


Tadcaster crews responded to a female with her arm trapped in decorating equipment, crews used manpower to release.


York – Time of call 14:20


Crews from Acomb and York responded to a sinkhole in York, crews cordoned off the area and left in hands of the police.

Crews from Huntington responded to fencing and hedges on fire, crews extinguished using


York – Time of 14:30


Crews from Acomb responded to a skip fire, extinguished using 1 hose reel, pitch fork and ceiling hook.


Robin Hoods Bay – Time of call 16:32


Crews from Whitby responded to a male who had fallen down a cliff edge, incident currently ongoing.
