Incident Summary – Day Shift Monday 14thSeptember2020. 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred. 

 

 

Location: Harrogate 

Time of call: 07:45 

Crew from Harrogate responded to an automatic fire alarm at a retail premises in the Harrogate area. On arrival this turned out to be a false alarm caused by steam. 

 

Location: Scarborough 

Time of call: 09:30 

Crew from Scarborough responded to an automatic fire alarm at a premises in the area. This turned out to be a false alarm caused by accidental activation of call point. 

 

Location: Skipton Canal 

Time of call: 12:41 

Crew from Skipton responded to reports of a male Labrador dog named Ike who had snuck through a fence and fallen approximately 10 feet down an embankment into the canal and was unable to get back out. Crews used GP Lines, triple extension ladder and rope packs to rescue Ike and return him to his owner. 

 

Location: Richmond 

Time of call: 13:39 

Crew from Richmond responded to an automatic fire alarm at a residential premises. On arrival this was a false alarm caused by cooking fumes. 

 

Location: Chapel Haddlesey 

Time of call: 13:39 

Crew from Selby responded to reports of a field on fire in the area. On arrival this turned out to be a false alarm caused by controlled burning. 

 

Location: Scarborough 

Time of call: 14:12 

Crew from Scarborough responded to reports of smoke sighted in the area. This turned out to be a false alarm caused by controlled burning. 

 

Location: York 

Time of call: 14:18 

Crew from Acomb responded to an automatic fire alarm at a property in York. This turned out to be a false alarm caused by workmen and dust. 

 

Location: Ripon 

Time of call: 15:19 

Crew from Ripon responded to reports of a vehicle on fire on a driveway. On arrival this turned out to be a false alarm caused by an oil leak on the engine that gave off black smoke. 

 

Location: Deighton, York 

Time of call: 15:23 

Crews from Acomb and York responded to reports of a fork lift truck well alight at a farm. Crews used 2 breathing apparatus and 2 hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. 

 

Location: Scarborough 

Time of call: 16:22 

Crew from Scarborough responded to reports of a sofa that had been deliberately set alight inside a small shelter. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish.
