Incident Summary – Night Shift – 23rd May 2019

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred:

Brompton, Northallerton

Time of call: 17:04

A crew from Northallerton were called to an automatic fire alarm activation. This was a false alarm caused by burnt toast.

 Ampleforth

Time of call 17:08

A crew from Easingwold were called to 5 persons trapped in a lift car. Crews released them from the lift using small tools.

 Wiggington Road

Time of call: 17:51

A crew from York were called to an automatic fire alarm activation. This was a false alarm caused by a misoperation of the break glass point.

 Cod Beck Reservoir, Osmotherley

Time of call: 19:24

A crew from Northallerton were called to a fire in the open. This was a BBQ that had been left unattended. The fire was out on Fire Service arrival and no action was taken.

 Scarborough

Time of call: 21:09

A crew from Scarborough were called to an automatic fire activation. This was a false alarm and was triggered by water leaking into the electrics.

 Quarry Lane, Harrogate

Time of call: 22:59

A crew from Harrogate were called to a report of a fire smouldering in the open. This was a fire to

 York

Time of call: 23:35

Crews from York and Acomb attended to a report of an oven on fire in a ground floor flat. This was a fire to a box left inside an oven which was out on arrival. Crews removed the oven contents outside and cooled with a bucket of water.

 Sherburn in Elmet

Time of call:  03:32

A crew from Tadcaster attended a skip fire, one hose reel jet was used to extinguish the fire which is believed to have started accidentally.

 Northallerton

Time of call:  04:24

A crew from Northallerton assisted an elderly lady with a leak in her kitchen affecting the electrics.  The crew disconnected a washing machine and isolated the water supply.

 St Nicholas Street, Scarborough

Time of call:  05:14

A crew from Scarborough attended a report of an alarm sounding, this was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.
