Incident Summary - Night Shift Sunday 2nd August

3rd August 2020

Incident Summary Night Shift – Sunday 2nd August 2020. 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred. 

 

Property fire – Snape, Bedale 

Time of call: 1457 hours 

Crews from Bedale, Masham, Richmond, Ripon, Colburn and Lofthouse have been called to a fire at a domestic property. The fire caused severe fire damage to a stable then spread to an outbuilding causing damage to a vehicle and household items inside. The roof of a house annex was also destroyed. Crews used 6 breathing apparatus, 2 hosereel jets, 1 45mm hose, 2 triple extension ladders and 2 thermal imaging cameras. The cause is believed to have been a bonfire left unattended. 

 

Building fire – near Gribdale Terrace, Great Ayton 

Time of call: 1606 hours 

A crew from Stokesley, along with the Argocat from Kirkbymoorside have dealt with a small wooden framed agricultural building on fire in woodland. Crews used 2 backpack sprayers and a portable pump. The cause is believed to be deliberate. 

 

Small fire – Bridge Street, York 

Time of call:1821 hours 

A crew from York has dealt with a cigarette bin on fire outside a commercial property. Crew used a bucket of water. The cause is believed to be accidental. 

 

Small fire – York Road, Malton 

Time of call: 1828 hours 

A crew from Malton has dealt with 2 large bonfires in the open. Crew used 2 hosereel jets and pitchforks. The cause is believed to be deliberate. 

 

False alarm – Station Road, York 

Time of call: 1856 hours 

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to insects in the detector head. 

 

Small fire – Albert Road, Harrogate 

Time of call: 1931 hours 

A crew from Harrogate has dealt with a small fire in the open. The fire was extinguished by youths prior to our arrival. Crew carried out an inspection only. The cause is believed to be deliberate.  

 

Assist ambulance – Richmond 

Time of call: 2340 hours 

A crew from Richmond has been called to assist paramedics in transferring a female patient from a domestic property to the ambulance. 

 

False alarm – off Tadcaster Road, York 

Time of call: 0129 hours 

A crew from Acomb has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to an unknown fault.  

 

False alarm – off Manor Road, Easingwold 

Time of call: 0134 hours 

A crew from Easingwold has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.  

 

False alarm – Old Malton Road, Malton 

Time of call: 0443 hours 

A crew from Malton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to insects in the detector.
