Incident Summary – Night Shift – 18th May 2019

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred:

Tinkler Lane, Milby

Time of call: 17:18

A crew from Boroughbridge were called to a Labrador that had become stuck down a steep embankment to a river. Crews used manpower to bring the dog to safety and left it in the care of its owner. 

Richmond Road, Brompton on Swale

Time of call 18:36

Crews from Richmond and Colburn attended to a report of a chimney fire. This was a fire confined to a chimney caused by a birds nest inside the chimney flue. Crews extinguished this using a 9m ladder, chimney rods, small tools and a hose reel jet.

Masham

Time of call: 19:06

A crew from Masham were called to an automatic fire alarm sounding in a residential property. This was a false alarm caused by cooking fumes.

Filey

Time of call: 20:25

A crew from Filey along with an Officer were called to an automatic fire alarm sounding. This was caused by a smoke machine from a stage act. No action was taken by Fire Service.

Esplanade, Scarborough

Time of call: 21:31

A crew from Scarborough were called to a report of five people trapped inside a lift. Crews released them from lift using lift keys.

 Broughton Road, Skipton

Time of call: 22:38

A crew from Skipton were called to an automatic fire alarm sounding in a residential property. This was a false alarm caused by smoking materials.

 Catterick Village

Time of call: 23:52

Crews from Colburn and Richmond were called to an automatic fire alarm sounding in a residential property. This was a false alarm caused by dust.

 Scarborough

Time of call: 1:56

A crew from Scarborough were called to assist the ambulance service with a patient who had fallen and become stuck between a bay window and a wall. Crews used manpower only and left her in care of the ambulance service.

 Station Parade, Harrogate

 Time of call: 02:50

A crew from Harrogate were called to an automatic fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm caused by a fault on the system.

 

East Parade, Harrogate

 Time of call: 03:13

A crew from Harrogate were called to an automatic fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm caused by a fault on the system.

 Fulfordgate, York

Time of call: 03:59

A crew from York were called to an automatic fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm caused by a fault on the system.
