In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round up we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages where incidents have occurred.

Time: 16:49

Location: off Manor Way, Sutton in Craven

One of our Skipton crews attended reports of flooding to rear garden and home of a property due to the quantity of water from falling rain. The crew dug trenches to divert the water away from homes and assisted with locating sandbags and giving advice to nearby residents.

Location: Blossomgate, Ripon

After our crews attended an automatic fire alarm nearby they came across a female who’d fallen and suffered a suspected broken wrist. Crews escorted female to local minor injuries unit for further treatment.

Location: off Main Street, Sutton in Craven

One of our Skipton crews attended an address after a neighbour called reporting that his neighbour was trapped in her bedroom and had been for a number of hours after the door mechanism failed. Fire crews gained access and released female who was unharmed.

Location: Churchfield Lane, Womersley

A crew from Selby and Pontefract attended reports of a car on fire on a track in the area. The fire caused 100% fire damage to the entire vehicle. Fire crews used 1 hose reel and 1 breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire, the cause is believed to have been deliberate ignition.

Location: Off Murray Street, Filey

Filey crew were called to reports of flooding affecting the rear yard and home of an elderly female after the drains were severely blocked. Our crew assisted using an ejector pumps to clear as much water as possible. Yorkshire Water requested to attend and incident left with them to resolve.

River Ouse, York

Crews from York and Acomb responded to a report of a male in the river.  One male was rescued from the river by York boat crews and left in care of ambulance.

We’ve also taken a number of automatic fire alarm activations from various locations across the County which resulted in false alarms.
