Incident Summary - Night Shift Monday 14th September

Incident Summary – Night Shift Monday 14th September 2020. 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred. 

 

Vehicle fire – Pickering 

Time of call: 1658 hours 

Crews from Pickering and Malton have dealt with a tractor and baler on fire. This resulted in 80% fire, heat and smoke damage to the tractor and 50% damage to the baler. Crews used 2 breathing apparatus, 2 hosereels, triple extension ladder and small tools. The cause is believed to be an electrical or mechanical fault.  

 

Small fire – off Melrosegate, York 

Time of call: 1835 hours 

A crew from Acomb has dealt with a small fire in woodland. Crew used a knapsack sprayer and bucket of water. The cause is believed to be deliberate. 

 

False alarm – off Station Road, Haxby 

Time of call: 1855 hours 

A crew from Huntington has investigated reports of a fire in the garden of a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning under supervision. 

 

False alarm – Lawrence Street, York 

Time of call: 1911 hours 

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes. 

 

Small fire – off Huntington Road, York 

Time of call: 1937 hours 

Crews from York and Huntington have been called to a small fire in bushes. The fire was out on a our arrival. The cause in believed to be deliberate.  

 

False alarm – off Wheldrake Lane, Crockey Hill 

Time of call: 2011 hours 

A crew from York has been called to reports of a male trapped under a vehicle. On our arrival it was established that no persons were trapped. 1 male received treatment from paramedics for minor injuries. Incident left with Police.  

 

Water rescue – River Ouse, York 

Time of call: 2019 hours 

2 crews from Huntington have been called to reports of 2 persons in the river. Both were rescued by Police prior to our arrival. Crews administered first aid until arrival of paramedics.  

 

False alarm – Heslington Lane, York 

Time of call: 2105 hours 

A crew from York has investigated reports of a strange noise and excessive heat coming from an empty domestic property. Crew carried out a full external search but no sign of fire.  

 

False alarm – Wetherby 

Time of call: 2106 hours 

2 crews from Tadcaster have been called to assist West Yorkshire crews at reports of a property fire. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.  

 

False alarm – York Place, Harrogate 

Time of call: 2142 hours 

A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the detection system.  

 

Road traffic collision – A63, Hambleton 

Time of call: 2204 hours 

A crew from Selby has been called to a single vehicle road traffic collision. No persons trapped. No action by fire crew. Incident left in hands of Police. 

 

False alarm – off Greatwood Avenue, Skipton 

Time of call: 2245 hours 

A crew from Skipton has been called to reports of a fire in the garden of a domestic property. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning under supervision. 

 

False alarm – off Crescent Avenue, Whitby 

Time of call: 2314 hours 

A crew from Whitby has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the system. 

 

False alarm – off Bishopdyke Road, Sherburn in Elmet 

Time of call: 2347 hours 

A crew from Tadcaster has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to cigarette smoke. 

 

False alarm – Northallerton 

Time of call: 0059 hours 

A crew from Northallerton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a faulty smoke detector. Advice given.  

 

False alarm – off Vivis Lane, Pickering 

Time of call: 0314 hours 

A crew from Pickering has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the system. 

 

False alarm –  A59, Green Hammerton 

Time of call: 0403 hours 

A crew from Acomb has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to an unknown cause.
