Incident Summary – Night Shift Friday 12th April

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 Road traffic collision – A66, West Layton

Time of call: 1629 hours

Richmond crew has attended a 2 vehicle road traffic collision. No persons trapped but 2 casualties in care of ambulance crews. No action taken by Fire crew. Incident left with Police.

 Rubbish fire – Ellers Road, Sutton in Craven

Time of call: 1729 hours

A crew from Skipton has dealt with a rubbish fire in the open. They used a hosereel jet to extinguish the fire. The cause is believed to be controlled burning left unattended.

 Road traffic collision – Moor Road, Bishop Monkton

Time of call: 1836 hours

Crews from Ripon and Boroughbridge have attended a 2 vehicle road traffic collision involving a Nissan Micra and a Nissan Juke. 1 male from Micra, not trapped, received a precautionary check by paramedics. Male from Juke suffered minor injuries. 1 female from Juke was trapped due to injuries only. Released by Fire crews and taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries. Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment, small tools and stabilisation gear.

 Road traffic collision – Great North Way, Nether Poppleton

Time of call: 1852 hours

A crew from Acomb has dealt with a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a Volvo which had collided with a central bollard. No persons trapped or injured. Damage to underside if vehicle caused a fuel spillage on the roadway. Crew used absorbent pads.

 Malicious incident – Seamer Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 1957 hours

A crew from Scarborough have responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a malicious activation of a break glass point.

 Malicious incident – Water Skellgate, Ripon

Time of call: 2026 hours

A crew from Ripon have responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a malicious activation of a break glass point.

 False alarm - Off the A19, Shipton

Time of call: 2103 hours

A crew from Acomb has investigated reports of a large fire in the open. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning under supervision. Advice given.

 False alarm – Duchy Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 2127 hours

A crew from Harrogate has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to dust in the detector.

 False alarm – Kings Square, York

Time of call: 2212 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to accidental activation of a break glass point.

 False alarm – Glaisdale

Time of call: 2245 hours

A crew from Danby has investigated reports of a fire on the moors, seen from Goathland. This was a false alarm due to a 50ft industrial flare in the Cleveland area.

 False alarm – Osmotherley

Time of call: 2301 hours

A crew from Northallerton has investigated reports of a fire on the moors, seen from Hawnby. This was a false alarm due to a 50ft industrial flare in the Cleveland area.

 False alarm – Kettlestring Lane, York

Time of call: 0009 hours

A crew from Acomb has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to dust in the detector.

 False alarm – Lascelles Lane, Northallerton

Time of call: 0212 hours

2 crews from Northallerton have responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

 False alarm – Maple Drive, Scarborough

Time of call: 0322 hours

A crew from Scarborough has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to an unknown fault on the system.

 Road traffic collision – Scarborough Road, Filey

Time of call: 0424 hours

Crews from Filey and Scarborough have been called to a road traffic collision involving a Vauxhall Zafira which had come to rest in a hedge. Crew stabilised the vehicle and carried out a search for casualties. No persons located. Crews used triple extension ladder, lighting and a reciprocating saw. Incident left with Police.

 Assist Police – River Ouse, York

Time of all: 0441 hours

Crews from York and Acomb, along with our water rescue unit from York and York Rescue Boat, have carried out a search of the river and bankside after a person was reported to have fallen into the river. No persons located.
