Incident Summary – Day Shift Thursday 22nd May 2020 

 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred:  

 

Time: 08:55 

Location: Filey 

 

Our Filey crew responded to reports of a fire in the open near the cliffs. The crews extinguished the fire using 1 hose reel jet, beaters and backpack sprayers. 

 

Time: 09:34 

Location: Scarborough 

 

Our Scarborough crew responded to reports of a water leak at a residential premises. Advice was given to the landlord who arrived and the incident was left with the them. 

 

Time: 12:44 

Location: Scarcroft, York 

 

Crews from York and Acomb responded to reports of large amount of smoke emitting from a residential chimney. This resulted in a false alarm with good intent. 

 

Time: 13:21 

Location: Woodfield Road, Harrogate 

 

Crews from Harrogate and Knaresborough responded to reports of an oven smoking and sparking. The crews isolated the electric and advice was given to the home owner. 

 

Time: 13:35 

Location: Bootham Crescent, York 

 

Crews from York and Acomb responded to reports of an automatic fire alarm at a residential premises. This resulted in a false alarm due to cooking fumes. 

 

Time: 14:08 

Location: Whitley, Selby 

 

Crews from Selby responded to reports of an automatic fire alarm sounding at a commercial premises. This resulted in a false alarm due to a system fault. 

 

Time: 15:10 

Location: Filey 

 

Our Filey crew responded to reports of a small fire in the open. The crew used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. 

 

Time: 16:12 

Location: Leyburn 

 

Our Leyburn crew responded to reports of a car smoking. Upon further inspection this was found to be an oil leak smoking onto the hot exhaust. The crews used drizit pads and soil to soak up the oil spill.
