Incident Summary Day Shift 12th April 2019

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 

Time of call: 8:11

Brompton on Swale

A crew from Richmond were called to a fire to a large pile of fertiliser, they required further assistance to put the fire out. Crews from Northallerton and Bedale along with our water bowser from Boroughbridge and an Officer attended. Crews used a main jet and hose reels to extinguish this and used on site machinery to flatten the pile.

Carr Lane, York

Crews from Acomb and York were called to an automatic fire alarm sounding with no response from the occupant. After investigating, crews found this to be a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

Street near to Keighley Road, Skipton

A crew from Skipton were called to a skip on fire. Crews extinguished this using a hose reel jet and water from a hydrant.

Pateley Bridge

Crews from Summerbridge and Ripon along with an Officer were called to an automatic fire alarm sounding with no response from the occupant. This was caused by a small fire to some kitchen items placed near a gas fired cooker. This was extinguished prior to Fire Service arrival and crews ensured this was out and provided a home fire risk assessment.

Northallerton

A crew from Northallerton were called to an automatic fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm.

Scarborough Road, Norton, Malton

Crews from Malton and an Officer were called to a report of a fire in a residential property. This was a small fire in a kitchen which was out on Fire Brigade arrival. Crews assisted with ventilating the property and ensure the fire was out using a thermal imaging camera.

Conesythorpe

A crew from Huntington were called to an automatic fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm due to an accidental activation of the break glass point.

Northallerton

A crew from Northallerton were called to an automatic fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm.

 

 

Time of call: 12:22 

York

 

A crew from York were called to an automatic fire alarm sounding in a residential building. This was a false alarm.

Green Hammerton

A crew from Acomb were called to assist with gaining entry to a property where a lady had fallen. A neighbour was able to gain entry using a spare key therefore crews provided assistance with lifting the casualty to the ambulance.

Harwood Dale, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough were called to what was believed to be a gorse bush fire. This was controlled burning and no action was taken.
