Incident Summary Day Shift 2nd June 2020

 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 

Thirsk –Time of call 08:24

Crews from Northallerton and Thirsk responded to a report of a 47kg propane gas bottle leaking gas close to a burner in an agricultural building. Crews isolated the gas bottle and gave advice to the occupier.

 

Huntington –Time of call 09:41

Crew from Huntington responded to a report of an alarm sounding at a residential property, this was a false alarm caused by a fault on the system.

 

Acomb –Time of call 10:52

Crew from Acomb assisted in gaining entry to a flat where one elderly male was trapped.

 

Skipton –Time of call 11:54

Crew from Skipton responded to a report of an alarm sounding at  a residential property, this was a false alarm caused by a faulty detector.

 

Huntington –Time of call 12:16

Crew from Huntington responded to a report of an alarm sounding ta residential property, this was a false alarm caused by a system deep clean.

 

Harrogate –Time of call 12:21

Crew from Harrogate responded to a report of an alarm sounding at a residential property, this was a false alarm caused by smoke formation due to bugs in a bug zapper close by.

 

Knaresborough –Time of call 12:31

Crew from Knaresborough responded to a report of a shed fire. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire that was caused by shrubbery being burned with a blow torch spreading to the shed. 80% fire damage was caused to the shed and the contents.

 

York –Time of call 14:57

Crews from York and Acomb responded to a report of a shed and fence on fire. On arrival crews found that a steel bin being used for burning in the neighboring garden had spread to a shed and fence. Crews used 2 hose reel jets, a thermal imaging camera and triple extension ladder to extinguish the fire and check for further fire spread.

 

York –Time of call 15:24

Crews from Acomb, Huntington and Tadcaster responded to a report of a flat fire. This was found to be burnt food in a pan on the hob causing 100% fire damage to the pan and its contents. Crews ventilated the property using a PPV fan. Advice was given to the occupier.

 

Skipton –Time of call 16:21

Crew from Skipton responded to a report of a fire seen near some woodland. Crews extinguished the fire using 2 knapsack sprayers.
