Incident Summary Sunday 7th July Night Shift

8th July 2019

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages where incidents have occurred.

Time 1808    Location: Moorland Road, Sherburn in Elmet

The Tadcaster crew extinguished a camp fire that had been left unattended in a field. A hose reel was used.

Time 1839    Location: Leadley Croft, Copmanthorpe

Smoke seen in the area turned out to be controlled burning in a garden. The York crew advised the occupant to cease burning due to the amount of smoke being generated.

Time 1853    Location: Brimham Rocks Road

2 Harrogate crews attended a road traffic collision involving 2 vehicles.  On arrival all persons were out of the car and we were not required.

Time 1857    Location: Middleton Road, York

A rubbish fire left unattended in a garden was extinguished by the Acomb crew using a hose reel. Advice was given to the occupant.

Time 1950    Location: Willow Bank, New Earswick

The Huntington crew investigated reports of logs on fire on the waters’ edge. 1 hose reel was used to extinguish a tree stump smouldering.

Time 2043    Location: Fordlands Road, York

Reports of smoke close to houses was controlled burning under supervision. The York crew investigated.

Time 0016    Location: High Street, Eastfield

Crews from Scarborough and Filey attended a fire in a flat. Fire damage to a drill pan and contents only. Breathing apparatus and a hose reel were used to extinguish the fire.    

Time 0101    Location: Columbus Ravine, Scarborough

A small fire in a cigarette bin was extinguished by a Scarborough crew using buckets of water.

Time 0135    Location: Ashtree Walk, Tadcaster

Tadcaster crew extinguished a moped that was well alight. The moped appeared to have been abandoned. A dry powder extinguisher and knapsack sprayer were used.

In addition to the above incidents North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue crews attended automatic fire alarm activations in Northallerton, Malton, Bainbridge, Stokesley and Scarborough.  All were false alarms.
