Incident Summary –Day shift –Saturday 13th April

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred:

A1 Southbound carriageway near Leeming Bar

Time of call 07:16

Bedale, Northallerton and Ripon fire crews responded to a two vehicle road traffic collision. Two people were trapped inside a vehicle that had gone down embankment.

Burton in Lonsdale

Time of call 08:43

Fire crews from Bentham responded to a horse stuck in stream. Horse aged 29 had fallen in stream and was unable to climb out. Crews used manpower and strops as well as a telehandler from a farmer to rescue horse. Horse was in good health and left with its owner

Heyshaw

Time of call 09:56

Harrogate fire crews responded to reports of a fire inside a building. On arrival there was no sign of fire, crews carried out a full inspection.

Newby, Scarborough

Time of call 10:33

Scarborough crews attended a smoke alarm activation at a residential property. This was a false alarm caused by a fault on the system.

A19 North Bound. Jeater Houses

Time of call 11:56

Fire crews from Northallerton and Stokesley attended a two vehicle road traffic collision. One male was trapped and extricated by crews using hydraulic cutting equipment. He was taken to Hospital by Air Ambulance with chest injuries. There were three other casualties who were not trapped.

Tadcaster

Time of call 13:19

Fir crew’s from Tadcaster responded to a fire involving a hedge in a domestic garden. The cause of the fire was accidental.  Crews used one hose reel.

Kirk Smeaton, Selby

Time of call 13:28

Selby fire crews attended reports of a skip fire, crews confirmed that the fire had spread to a domestic garage. Crew extinguished using a hose reel jet..

Kelfield, Selby

Time of call 14:09

Selby fire crews attended a large amount of garden waste smoldering. The fire started as a bonfire but due to high winds grew out of control. Crews used one main jet and pitchforks to extinguish the fire.

Skipton

Time of call 14:19

Fire crews from Skipton rescued a lady stuck in a faulty lift car. Crews used lift keys to release the lift.

Filey

Time of call 15:59

Fire crews from Filey responded to a house fire caused by cooking. Fire was out on arrival. Crews gave advice

Speeton

Time of call 16:22

Filey crews attended a chimney fire caused by accumulation of soot. Fire was extinguished using a 9m ladder and roof ladder
