Incident summary Nightshift 6 October 2018

7th October 2018

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Sawley Street, Skipton – Time of call 17:49

Crew from Skipton responded to a request from the Ambulance to gain access to a premises.

River Ouse at Monkton Reach, Nun Monkton– Time of call 18:28

Appliances and specialist equipment from Acomb, Ripon and Selby responded to a report of a barge which had become stranded on a sand bank. No action was required by the Fire Service as the barge became free itself.

Burton Salmon – Time of call 19:28

Appliances from Tadcaster and West Yorkshire appliances from Pontefract and Castleford, responded to a single car RTC.

Tadcaster Road, York – Time of call 00:10

An Acomb appliance released two persons unharmed from a hotel by use of small tools.

Belmont Road, Scarborough – Time of call 02:21

Scarborough firecrew used a hosereel to extinguish a bin fire in a park started deliberately by youths.

Windsor Garth, York– Time of call 05:02

Acomb firecrew responded to a smoke alarm activation in a flat. Crews forced entry using a door enforcer. Crumpets had been left in oven by occupant who was asleep in premises who was assisted into open air but had suffered no smoke inhalation, and the fire was out on arrival.


There were also fire alarm activations in Filey, Hawes, Leeming Bar with the respective causes being: a carbon monoxide alarm sounding due to a low battery, cause unknown due to alarm being re-set by occupants prior to Fire arrival, breakglass point broken accidentally by workstaff
