Incident Summary Night Shift Wednesday 20th March

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Harrogate – TOC: 17:39

Crew were mobilised to a report of a fire in woodland. Crews removed paper from woodland. Believed to have been caused by youths.

Whitby – TOC: 18:14

Crew were mobilised to a report of a fire seen on moorland near Whitby. Crews investigated and found this to be a controlled burning under supervision.

Egton – TOC: 19:33

Crew were mobilised to a report of a fire seen on moorland. Crews investigated and found this to be a controlled burning under supervision.

Pickering – TOC: 20:03

Crew were mobilised to a report of a fire alarm sounding in a premises. This was a false alarm due to a fault in a detector head.

Selby – TOC: 21:13

Crew were mobilised to a report of a fire in a garden. Crews investigated and found this to be a controlled burning under supervision.

York – TOC: 22:11

Crew were mobilised to a report of a fire in a playground. On arrival this was a mope, well alight, extinguished by crews using a 9 litre foam extinguisher.

Harrogate – TOC: 22:21

Crew were mobilised to a report of a smell of burning and possible smoke seen in area. Crews investigated and found this to be a false alarm caused by smoke from a chimney mistaken for fire.

York – TOC: 22:30

Crew were mobilised to a fire seen in the open. This was a car fire, well alight on arrival, extinguished using 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel.

York – TOC: 23:06

Crew were mobilised to a report of a fence on fire. This was a shed fire, well alight on arrival. Crews extinguished using 2 hose reel, lighting and small tools.

York – TOC: 00:44

Crew were mobilised to a report of a fire alarm sounding in a premises. This was a false alarm due misoperation of a break glass callpoint.

Selby  – TOC: 03:45

Selby firecrews responded to a fire in a commercial premises in the town. The property was extensively fire damaged and extinguished by use of hosereels.
