In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round up we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages where incidents have occurred.

Time:  19:27

Location: Gayle

Hawes attended an automatic fire alarm at a factory. This was a false alarm caused by an unknown fault.

Time:  20:04

Location: Off Larpool Lane, Whitby

Whitby attended an automatic fire alarm at a domestic property. This was a false alarm caused by a faulty detector.

Time:  20:22

Location: Off Keighley Road, Skipton

Skipton attended an automatic fire alarm at an industrial unit. This was a false alarm caused by a system fault.

Time:  21:46

Location: Heslington, York

York attended an automatic fire alarm at a university accommodation block. This was a false alarm caused by a deodorant setting the alarms off.

Location: Faceby

Stokesley were mobilised to reports of a BMW car on fire. The vehicle suffered 50% fire damage, mainly to the engine compartment. Crews extinguished the fire using 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet, a thermal imaging camera and small tools. The cause of the fire is believed to be due to an electrical fault.

Location: Stockwell Lane, Knaresborough

Knaresborough attended an automatic fire alarm at a residential building. This was a false alarm caused by smoking materials.

Location: A168, Dishforth

Borougbridge were mobilised to a Landrover Discovery on fire. The vehicle suffered 80% fire damage and crews extinguished the fire using 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet and a foam extinguisher. The cause of the fire is unknown.

Time:  05:34

Location: Off Skipton road, Harrogate

Harrogate were mobilised to reports of smoke coming from a shop. This turned out to be a false alarm caused by a burglar alarm smoke cloak activation. No action taken by the Fire Service.
