Incident summary - Night shift Thursday 17th September

Incident Summary – Night Shift Thursday 17th September 2020. 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred. 

 

Location: Blubberhouses, Harrogate  

Time of call: 17:22 

Harrogate crew were mobilised to a reports of smoke sighted in some moorland close to the A59. This was a false alarm due to the landowner doing controlled burning. 

 

Location: Colburn Business Park. Catterick Garrison 

Time of call: 18:20 

Colburn and Richmond Crew were mobilised to a smoke alarm at a commercial premises. This was a false alarm caused by steam from a dishwasher.  

 

Location: Malton 

Time of call: 19:12 

Crew from Malton were mobilised to a smoke alarm activation at a domestic property. This was a false alarm caused by steam. 

 

Location: Brotherton, Selby  

Time of call: 19:34 

Fire crew from Selby and an appliance from West Yorkshire responded to reports of smoke sighted in the open. A small bonfire was found but it was out on arrival.  

 

Location: Catterick Garrison 

Time of call: 20:38 

Fire crews from Colburn and Richmond responded to a fire in the open measuring 30m x 30m. An extra appliance from Leyburn also attended to help with water supplies. 

 

Location: Newton on Rawcliffe, Pickering 

Time of call: 20:44 

Pickering Crews responded to reports of smoke sighted in the open. This turned out to be controlled burning under supervision.  

 

Location: Selby 

Time of call: 20:45 

Selby crew responded to reports of a fire in a rear garden. On arrival crew confirmed this was a small fire pit. No action required.  

 

Location: Whitby 

Time of call: 22:11 

Whitby crews attended a smoke alarm activation at a commercial premises. This was a false alarm caused by a fault on the system. 

 

Location: Bilton in Ainsty 

Time of call: 02:58 

Crews from Tadcaster responded to a smoke alarm activation at a commercial property. This was a false alarm caused by a fault on the system 

 

Location: Portholme Road, Selby 

Time of call: 05:48 

Selby crews responded to a smoke alarm activation at a commercial property. This was a false alarm caused by a detector fault.
