Incident Summary – Night Shift Friday 23rd October 2020 


In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred. 



Location: Masham 

Time of call: 21:32 

Masham crews responded to a smoke alarm activation at a commercial premises. This was a false alarm however the cause was unknown 


Location: Huntington Road, York 

Time of call: 22:22 

York crews responded to flooding inside property, water was coming from the bathroom. Crews assisted the occuiper.  


Location: Monks Cross Drive, Huntington 

Time of call: 22:46 

Huntington crews responded to a smoke alarm activation. This was a false alarm caused by dust in the detector 


Location: Eastfield, Scarborough 

Time of call: 23:21 

Scarborough crew responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm caused by a fault on the system. 


Location: South Milford, Selby 

Time of call: 00:43 

Selby crews responded to a car on fire on a private drive way. The cause of fire is believed to be deliberate. The car was destroyed by fire. Crews extinguished fire using two hose reels, two breathing apparatus and a foam extinguisher.  


Location: Malton 

Time of call: 00:58 

Malton fire crew responded to a smoke alarm activation at a commercial premises. This was a false alarm however the cause is unknown 


Location: Station Parade, Harrogate 

Time of call: 01:23 

Crews from Harrogate responded to a smoke alarm activation at a commercial premises. This was a false alarm the cause was unknown
