Incident summary Dayshift Tuesday 13th August 2019

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Cumberland Street, York – Time of call 08:21

York crew responded to a fire alarm activation with a commercial premises – with the cause of activation due to dust from workmen.

Church Street, Whitby – Time of call 08:32

Whitby responded to an automatic alarm activation in a hotel – with the cause of the activation due to smoking.

Castle Howard Road, Malton – Time of call 10:07

Whitby responded to an automatic alarm activation in sheltered accomodation – with the cause of the activation due to testing of system.

Spittal Crossing, Scarborough – Time of call 10:42

Scarborough responded to fire by the side of the road to rags. Extinguished by use of a hosereel, with the cause of ignition being deliberate.

Beckett Drive, Osbaldwick – Time of call 12:27

York and Acomb crews responded to a fire in the kitchen of a residential premises. Fire was caused due to a piece of paper left on an oven hob which was accidentally left on. Fire out on arrival – advice only given.

A64 eastbound between Grimston and Hopgrove roundabout – Time of call 12:29

Huntington and Acomb appliances attended a two car rtc. No persons trapped. X1 person given first aid at scene and scene made safe by firecrews.

Royal Albert Drive, Scarborough – Time of call 13:32

Scarborough responded to a report of a fire set deliberately in a childs play area. Extinguished by use of a backpack sprayer.

The Shambles, York – Time of call 13:41

York and Acomb attended a smoke alarm activation within a commercial premises. Cause of activation was unknown as the occupier had removed the alarm detector head. Advice given.
