Incident summary - Day shift Thursday 7th November

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round up we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages where incidents have occurred.

Incident Summary Day Shift 7th November 2019

Time: 12:41

Location: Long Preston, Skipton

Fire crews from Settle and Skipton responded to reports of a fire in a residential property. On arrival crews confirmed that the fire was confined to an electrical fuse box and was out on arrival. The wires had melted due to heat damage but no further damage took place. Crews carried out an inspection using a thermal imaging camera.

Time: 15:31

Location: High Street, South Milford

A Fire Officer attended reports of flooding in the area of South Milford. The dyke had burst and caused water to rush down the high street. The water accumulated due to blocked culverts. Local volunteers and the Environment Agency managed the incidents clearing out the drains and culverts. The level of water dropped rapidly.

 

In addition to the listed incidents Crews across the county responded to several smoke alarm activations, all of which were false alarms.
