Incident Summary Day Shift Sunday 29th March 2020 

 

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred: 

 

 

Time: 0718 

Location : St Helens Square, York 

York crew attended an automatic fire alarm at a bar. This turned out to be a false alarm caused by an unknown fault.  

 

Time: 1041 

Location : Brompton, Northallerton 

Northallerton attended an automatic fire alarm at a residential address. This turned out to be a false alarm. The cause of the alarm activation was unknown. 

 

Time: 1315 

Location : Easingwold 

Easingwold were mobilised to reports of trees on fire close to a residential address. On arrival, crews extinguished 2 small conifer tress using 1 hose reel jet and small tools. The cause of the fire was accidental due to a dropped cigarette.    

 

Time: 1414 

Location : Barlby Road, Selby 

Selby responded to reports of a chimney fire in a domestic property. Crews used a chimney kit to extinguish the fire. Crews also fitted smoke alarms in the property and provided advice to the homeowner. The cause of the chimney fire was due to an accumulation of soot. 

 

Time: 1518 

Location : Station Parade, Harrogate 

2 appliances from Harrogate attended a fire involving refuse bins which spread to the exterior of a residential property. Crews used 1 hose reel jets at the incident. The cause of the fire was deliberate.  

Time: 1555 

Location : Newby, Scarborough 

A crew from Scarborough assisted with an elderly female who had fallen in the shower and was unable to get out of the bath. Crew-power was used to help the female to her feet.  

 

Time: 1612 

Location : Field Lane, York 

York attended an automatic fire alarm at a residential address. This turned out to be a false alarm. The cause of the alarm activation was a system fault. 

 

Time: 1638 

Location : Shortbank Road, Skipton 

An appliance from Skipton extinguished a small shrub fire in the open involving brash. Crews used 2 backpack sprayers at this incident.
