Incident Summary – Day Shift – Saturday 21st September 2019

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Fire in Open – Hutton-Le-Hole

Time of call: 0815

Kirkbymoorside appliance extinguished 2 straw bales on fire using a pitchfork and 1 hose reel jet. The cause of the fire is believed to be due to discarded smoking materials.

Lift Rescue – Ripon Road, Harrogate

Time of call: 0844

Harrogate were mobilised to a lift rescue, crews used lift keys to release a male who was stuck inside. Crews also gave advice for the premises to contact an engineering company.

2 Vehicle RTC – A171, Scaling

Time of call: 0941

Appliances from Whitby and Lythe attended a minor 2 vehicle road traffic collision. No persons were trapped or injured, incident left with Police who were in attendance.

False Alarm (overheated brakes) – A169, Malton Roundabout

Time of call: 1153

Pickering attended reports of a car fire, this was a false alarm with smoke being caused by overheated brakes. Crews carried out an inspection only using a thermal imaging camera.

Automatic Fire Alarm – Broughton Road, Skipton

Time of call: 1352

 Skipton attended an automatic fire alarm at a residential property, this was a false alarm caused by an unknown fault.

Muck Heap Fire – Galphay

Time of call: 1406

2 x Ripon appliances extinguished a deep seated muck heap fire. The heap measured 10m x 10m and crews used 2 hose reel jets and farm machinery to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is unknown. **this incident is still ongoing with crews damping down hotspots**
