Incident Summary –Day shift –Monday 13thth May

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred:

A661, nr Plompton Rocks

Time of call: 08:30

Harrogate crews responded to a minor two car RTC. No persons trapped, but a female was given first aid at scene until Ambulance attendance, and then she was transported to hospital as a precaution.

Firby nr Bedale

Time of call: 09:03

The nearest available fire appliance – Masham – investigated a report of smoke in the area behind woods. On attendance this was found to be attended controlled burning.

Leyburn Business Park

Time of call: 09:10

Firecrews from Leyburn and Richmond attended a fire in a commercial premises to a piece of industrial equipment. Staff had used a dry powder extinguisher prior to Fire arrival, who then used a thermal imaging camera to ensure complete extinguishment.

Sowerby Road, Sowerby

Time of call: 09:51

Thirsk firecrew responded to a request from carers to assist gain access to premises after the 100 year old occupant had fallen behind the door, blocking it. Firecrews gained access and left fallen person in care of carers, awaiting the Ambulance attendance.

Esplanade, Scarborough

Time of call: 10:05

Scarborough crew responded to an alarm activation in a hotel which was found to be a system fault.

Brook Street, Selby

Time of call: 10:50

Selby firecrew administered first aid to a female following a two car RTC. Casualty then handed to care of paramedics.

Limestone Road, Burniston

Time of call: 11:07

Scarborough crew used two hosereels to extinguished approx. 10 metres of Leylandii conifer with the cause believed to be due to a weed supressing flamer.

High Street, Skipton

Time of call: 12:10

Skipton crew responded to an alarm activation within an education establishment with the cause being cooking fumes.
