Incident Summary 9 April Night

10th April 2021

16:55 Church Street, Church Fenton

A crew from Tadcaster attended a sofa on fire. The fire had spread to the sofa from a fire pit. The crew used a knapsack sprayer.

17:53 Forest Lane, York

A crew from York attended a deliberately started fire in the open. One hose reel jet used.

18:24 Gouldings Close, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough attended a fire on a building site believed to have been started by youths. Knapsack sprayer used.

18:31Bootham Stray, York

A crew from York attended a small fire to grassland. It was out on their arrival so they carried out an inspection only.

18:59 Bond End, Knaresborough

A crew from Knaresborough attended a bin on fire close to an outbuilding. Knapsack sprayers and buckets used. The cause is believed to be deliberate.

19:25 Cornwall Drive, York

A crew from York attended a small fire in a playing field, started deliberately. Crews used a bucket of water.

19:38 Selby- false alarm cooking fumes

19:52 Grange Lane, York

A crew from Acomb attended a small campfire. One hose reel jet used. 

20:51 Manfield

Crews from Richmond, Colburn and Darlington attended an incident involving a large quantity of flytipping on fire. Two hose reel jets were used.

22:00 Scarborough- false alarm good intent - controlled burning

02:02 Victoria Road, Scarborough

Two crews from Scarborough including the aerial ladder platform along with crews from Filey and Sherburn attended a kitchen fire in a flat. The fire caused damage to oven and kitchen units and extensive smoke damage throughout the flat. Two people were brought down from an external ledge via a triple extension ladder. They were handed over to paramedics but it is believed they do not require hospital treatment. Crews extinguished the fire and retrieved a number of animal cages. The cause is believed to be a build-up of fat/grease in the oven catching fire after the oven was left on. Crews used two hose reels, four breathing apparatus, two thermal imaging cameras, lighting, positive pressure ventilation fan and ladders.

A crew from Acomb attended a fire to a bin and two dumped chairs. They used a hose reel jet.
