Incident Summary 2 May Night

3rd May 2021

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

00:47 Old Malton, Malton- incident ongoing

Crews from Malton, Pickering and Kirkbymoorisde attended an a steel barn containing around 500 bales on fire. Crews used hose reel jets, 45mm jets and ground monitors to tackle the fire. The incident was scaled down at around 2:45 am, but one fire engine remains at the scene.

4th May update- crews remained at the scene throughout 3rd May. They used hose reel jets and covering jets and were assisted by a farmer using machinery to pull haybales apart. Crews left the incident with the farmer at around 8:40pm on 3rd May. A revisit will be carried out on 4th May.

5th May update- The straw is still smouldering so the incident remains open for revisit on 6th May
