Incident Summary – Day Shift, Thursday 12th September

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Time: 08.54   Location: York

The crew from Acomb were called a report of a car on fire.  This was a small fire in the engine compartment which was out on the arrival of the crew.  The crew isolated the battery and it was thought to be caused by an electrical fault.

Time: 10.18   Location: Scarborough

Scarborough crew attended reports of a child locked into a car.  The crew used small tools to open the vehicle and reunited the child with their parents.

Time: 10.21   Location: York

York crew attended a premises in York where a person was stuck inside a lift.  The crew used lift keys to rescue the person.

Time:  10.50  Location: Scarborough

The crew from Scarborough were called to assist with entry to a property due to concerns for the health of the resident inside. On arrival a neighbour had gained access using a key.

Time:  11.17  Location: York

Police requested our assistance to gain access to a property for carers to assist the resident.  The crew from Acomb enabled access for the carers using the gain entry kit.

Time:  11.48  Location: Ripon

Ripon crew responded to reports of a road traffic collision where the vehicle needed to be made stable to allow the driver to exit.  The crew used stabilisation equipment, aided the driver from the vehicle and left the person in the hands of the Ambulance crew.

Time:  15.15  Location: Selby

The crew from Selby responded to reports of leaves smoldering in a field. The crew used knapsack sprayers to extinguish the fire which involved undergrowth and tree stumps.

Crew from York Station also attended a report of an automatic fire alarm.  This was found to be a false alarm.
