Crews from Selby reports of a tree on fire. This had been extinguished prior to fire service arrival.

Time: 10:03  Location: Northallerton

Northallerton crews assisted carers with gaining access to a property as their patient had accidentally locked themselves in the property. Access was gained and the patient was left in care of carers.

Time: 10:19  Location: A64 York

Crews from York and Huntington responded to reports of a road traffic collision between two vehicles on York outer ring road. No people were trapped. Crews made the scene safe and left the incident with police.

Time: 13:01  Location: Tang Hall, York

York crews attended a small fire in the open which consisted of paper. They extinguished it using a bucket of water and a knapsack sprayer.

Time: 13:34  Location: Richmond

Crews from Masham attended reports of a tree on fire. They used knapsack sprayers to extinguish the fire and dampen down the area.

Time: 14:47  Location: Kirkbymoorside

Helmsley crews responded to a call regarding a microwave that had caught fire. This was out on arrival of the fire service who proceeded to remove the microwave outside of the property to make the property safe.

Time: 15:09  Location: Duggleby

Crews from Malton and Scarborough responded to a baler on fire in a field. They extinguished the fire using hose reels and breathing apparatus.

Time: 16:42  Location: Harrogate

Harrogate and Knaresborough attended reports of a gas leak at a property. Crews used a positive pressure ventilation fan and breathing apparatus to ventilate the basement of the property and they isolated a cylinder. The incident was left with the gas board.

Time: 16:42  Location: Wensley

A crew from Reeth responded to reports of a fire in the open. This was a tree smouldering in the woods and it was believed the cause was a discarded cigarette. Crews used knapsack sprayers to extinguish.

Time: 17:00  Location: Malton

A crew from Acomb who were covering at Malton attended reports of a small fire next to a road. This was out on arrival of the fire service and it was believed to have started from a discarded cigarette.

Time: 17:04  Location: Wiggington

York crews responded to reports of a field fire in Wiggington. This was extinguished using hose reel jets.

Time: 17:40  Location: Thornton Le Moor

A crew from Northallerton responded to a small fire in the open. This was out on arrival and crews used a hose reel jet to dampen down the area.

 

Crews from across the county responded to numerous false alarms throughout the day.
