Incident summary – 26 July, 2024 – Night shift

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Time:  17:55  Location:  Pickering Road East, Snainton

Scarborough crew responded to a RTC involving an electric Mercedes car and a hybrid Suzuki. No person trapped or injured. Fire crew made electric vehicle prior to recovery by isolating the high voltage. Car checked over with thermal camera also.

Time:  18:13  Location:  Green Lane, Harrogate

Police requested Fire attendance for a car awaiting recovery, with a fuel leak. Drizzit pads and roadside gravel used by crew for a small petrol leak originating from the petrol filler cap.

Time:  20:46  Location:  A59, Blubberhouses

Harrogate crew responded to a possible Ford Mondeo on fire. However, this was found to be a seized engine. Incident left with owner who was waiting for recovery.

Time:  21:52  Location:  Ripon Road, Harrogate

Harrogate crew responded to a call from a resident stating that smoke from a fire outside was affecting his premises. This was found to be controlled attended burning of hedging. False alarm good intent.

Time: 22:19   Location: North Street, York

York crew responded to flooding from a commercial property effecting the premises below. Crew isolated the water to the building using small tools and left the incident in the hands of a responsible person.

Time: 01:43   Location: Fairfax Avenue, Harrogate

Harrogate fire crews responded to an alarm sounding in a domestic premises which was then found to be filled with smoke. Entry gained and smoke found to be coming from foodstuffs left on a hot hob with no persons present in premises. Fire dealt with by crews and property cleared of smoke by use of a positive pressure fan.

There were also fire alarm activations responded to in: Scarborough and Acomb.   Both proved false alarms.
