Incident Summary – Night shift Wednesday 17th July
17:34 Sherburn in Elmet
Incident involved a two seater aircraft that had missed the runway and crashed into trees. All occupants were out on arrival of crews and sustained minor injuries only. Paramedics were on scene. Crews from Selby and Tadcaster used small tools to disconnect the battery of the plane. No further action was required.
21:04 Ribblehead
Hawes crews responded to reports of smoke sighted close the railway station. On arrival crew confirmed this was a bonfire under control. Crews gave advice. No further action was required.
22:19 Scarborough
Crew from Scarborough attended a property where a male was locked inside after the door latch broke. Crew used small tools to gain entry to the property.
02:13 Harrogate
Harrogate and Knaresborough crews responded to reports of a fire in a hospital. On arrival crew confirmed this was a small fire involving a faulty toaster and was out on arrival. Minor smoke logging to a corridor and the kitchen. Crews assisted with ventilation and gave advice.
During the night crews from Acomb, York and Malton also attended automatic fire alarm activations. These resulted in false alarms.
