Incident Summary – Monday Dayshift, 15th July 2024

Time: 07:12  Location: The Shambles, York

Both York and Acomb crews responded to an activated fire alarm inside a residential flat. This was a false alarm caused by a fault detector head.

Time: 08:02  Location: Westlands, Stokesley

Crews from Stokesley, Ripon and an appliance from our colleagues in Cleveland responded to a two vehicle road traffic collision where a vehicle had struck a building and a stationary car. Crews used stabilisation equipment to make the vehicle safe and then used hydraulic cutting equipment to create space to remove the female casualty safely under the instruction of air ambulance staff. Crews left the incident in the hands of police and electricity board who were notified of the solar panels on the collapsed roof. The female driver was taken to hospital for her injuries.

Time: 09:26  Location: Moor Lane, Sherburn-in-Elmet

A crew from Tadcaster responded and an activated fire alarm inside a residential building. This was caused by a fault domestic smoke alarm. Crews carried out a home fire safety visit.

A crew from York investigated an activated fire alarm inside a commercial building. This was caused by a fault and was a false alarm.

Time: 10:10  Location: Park Lane, Knaresborough

A crew from Knaresborough assisted a child who had their leg stuck inside a plastic chair. Crews used small tools and crew power to release the child.

Time: 10:12  Location:Royal Albert Drive, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to a tent well alight. The cause of this was possibly deliberate and was extinguished using a hose reel jet.

Time:  10:34  Location: Kent Road, Harrogate

A crew from Harrogate responded to an activated fire alarm inside a residential building. This was caused by steam and was a false alarm.

Time: 12:01   Location: A170, Near Thirsk

A crew from Thirsk responded to an activated fire alarm inside a residential building. This was caused by cooking fumes and was a false alarm.

Time: 12:31  Location: A168, Northallerton

A crew from Northallerton responded to an activated fire alarm inside a residential building. This was caused by an engineer on site and was a false alarm.

Time: 12:37  Location: North Moor Road, Huntington 

A crew from Acomb responded to an activated fire alarm inside a residential building. This was believed to had been caused by a fault on the system and was a false alarm.

Time: 15:05  Location: Near Clifford Street, York

A crew from York responded to a person trapped inside a lift with their child. Crews released the occupant using a lift key and block to release the occupants who were unharmed.

Time: 16:50  Location: Near Scalby Road, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough assisted ambulance staff with a difficult extrication of a occupant from their home. Crew power used only.
