07:59, Carleton Road, Skipton

Crews from Skipton and Grassington responded to reports of a fire alarm sounding in a residential property, with no response from the occupier. This was a false alarm.

09:43 Walton Place, York

A crew from Acomb responded to reports of two dogs locked in a car. On arrival the owner decided against fire service action and to wait for the AA to attend.

10:12 Grosmont, Whitby

Incident involved a delivery van stuck in fast flowing river in flood, in approximately 3 feet of water with with male driver, late thirties within vehicle. Fire crews set up upstream spotters and downstream inflation and brought the male to safety using swift water rescue equipment.

11:10 Station Road, Selby

A crew from Selby assisted Police to gain entry into a disused building due to welfare concerns. Crews used tools and reciprocating saw to gain access and left incident with Police.

11:34 Birch Close, Huntington

A crew from Huntington responded to a fire alarm activation. This was a false alarm caused by a faulty battery.

12:17 Scalby Road, Scarborough

Crews from Scarborough and Pickering attended a two vehicle road traffic collision involving a Hyundai Tucson and an MG hatchback. Three occupants – 2 females and 1 male aged 60-75 years – of the Hyundai, and three occupants – 2 females and 1 male aged 25-45 years – of the MG, were all in the vehicles on arrival of crews. Paramedics assessed casualties on scene and all occupants were then walked out of vehicles and taken to hospital via road ambulance for precautionary checks. Crews assisted with scene safety.

14:53 Darnborough Gate, Ripon

A crew from Ripon responded to a strong smell of chemicals in a property. Full evacuation of the property and neighboring property carried out. Crews used gas detectors and hydrocarbon detectors to investigate. There were no chemicals detected.
