Incident Summary – 4th July 2024, Night Shift

17:48 Danby Wiske 
Crews from Northallerton and Richmond responded to a report of a baler on fire in a field of cut crop. Crews used 1 hose reel jet and 1 triple extension ladder to extinguish the fire and prevent fire spread.

17:49 Main Street, Thorganby 
A crew from York responded to a report of a tree that had fallen onto a power line causing it to spark. The power line was in a field away from public access. Crews liaised with the land owner and stood by awaiting the arrival of Northern power engineers. The incident was handed over to Northern Power engineers.

18:50 Station View, Harrogate 
A crew from Harrogate responded to a report of a burst water pipe outside of a residents property that had caused some ceiling tiles to fall down. Crews assisted caretakers to drain the system and left the incident in their hands.

18:57 Harlow Moor Road, Harrogate 
A crew from Harrogate responded to a report of a fire in a wooded area. Crews located the fire and found it to be a camp fire under supervision. No fire service intervention was required.

20:00 High Street, Great Ayton 
A crew from Stokesley along with a crew from Coulby Newham responded to a report of a fire in a shed. Crews extinguished the fire to the wooden summer house using 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera. Advice was given to the owner.

20:04 Kings Road, Harrogate 
A crew from Harrogate responded to a report of smoke seen coming from a commercial building. On arrival crews found this to be a false alarm due to a smoke cloak device that had activated. Advice was given to a responsible person.

20:43 Water Lane, York 
A crew from York responded to a report of a fire to a tree. Crews located the smouldering tree and extinguished it using 2 knapsack sprayers.

00:47 Hurricane Way, York 
A crew from Acomb responded to a report of an alarm activation at a commercial premises. This was a false alarm due to an unknown cause.

01:18 Livingstone Street, York 
A crew from York responded to a report of an alarm activation in a residential premises. This was a false alarm due to smoking, advice was given to occupants.

02:31 High Street, Northallerton
A crew responded to a report of an alarm activation in a premises. This was a false alarm due to defective equipment, advice was given.
