Incident summary – Night shift Thursday 27th June

17:07 A64, Musley Bank

Malton crews responded to reports of a diesel van issuing smoke. This turned out to be blown turbo. No Fire service assistance required.

18:57 Sea Cliff Road, Scarborough

Scarborough fire crew were requested to assist Ambulance with extricating a female who had fallen down 22m down a bank and had spinal pain. Crews used crew power to move female up bank and into Ambulance.

19:45 Whitby

Whitby crews responded to reports of a fire sighted near to allotments. On arrival crew confirmed this was a controlled burn under supervision. Crews gave advice.

20:25 Scalby

Scarborough crews assisted a mother with gaining entry to flat after a 5 year old child had accidentally locked himself inside. Crews gained access via the first floor window and reunited mother and child.

21:09 Whitby

Whitby crews were requested to assist Police with reports of 6 youths sighted on top of a roof of a property. On arrival crew liaised with Police and witnesses who confirmed the youths had got down and left scene prior to arrival of Police and Fire.

In addition to the above incidents crews attended automatic fire alarm activations in York, Acomb, Sherburn and Harrogate. All were false alarms.

05:26 Selby

Selby crews assisted Police at an incident in the area and carried out observations on one male until arrival of Ambulance paramedics.

06:25 Scotch Corner, Richmond area

Two vehicle road traffic collision involving heavy goods vehicle with minor impact and driver out on arrival. One car with initial report of one person trapped, however on arrival of fire and rescue crew, driver of car was out of vehicle and in care of ambulance personnel. Crew made vehicle safe and left incident with Police.

 

In addition to the above, crews from Sherburn, Malton and Northallerton have attended automatic fire alarm activations. All were confirmed to be false alarms.
