Incident Summary – Friday 21st June – Night Shift

17:33 – Albemarle Crescent, Scarborough

Crews from Scarborough responded to reports of a male with hand trapped in a motorbike. Crews released the male using bolt croppers on the vehicle. He was then going to A+E with assistance from a friend.

18:16 – Stainforth, Settle

Crews from Bentham and Grassington responded to a single vehicle road traffic collision. One male was extricated from the vehicle by crews and taken to hospital via road ambulance. Crews used cutting equipment, small tools and sharps protection at the incident.

18:40 – Beech Grove, Harrogate

Crews from Harrogate responded to reports of a small fire in the open. The fire which consisted of a bag of rubbish was extinguished by crews using a bucket of water. The cause was deliberate.

19:42, Carlton, Selby

Crews from Selby, Snaith and Malton, alongside specialist animal and water rescue units, responded to reports of a cow in a river. Crews worked together to attempt to bring the cow out of the river. Unfortunately, these attempts were unsuccessful and the cow did not exit the river. The cow was left in care of the farmer, who was happy that the cow is on safe ground.

21:38, High Street, Starbeck

A crew from Harrogate responded to reports of a fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm.

22:06 – Scarcroft Road, York

Crews from Tadcaster responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a commercial premises. This resulted in a false alarm.

22:08 – Dunnington, York

Crews from York and Acomb responded to reports of a fire at a residential premises. This resulted in a small fire out on arrival due to a charging device which had overheated. Crews inspected the premises and made sure it was safe.

00:30 – Westwood, Scarborough

Crews from Scarborough responded to reports of a staff member locked inside a premises. Upon investigation a keyholder arrived on scene and released the staff member.

01:18 – Wigginton Road, York

Crews from Acomb responded to reports of a fire close to the roundabout. This resulted in a small campfire with persons in attendance. Advice was given and the fire was deemed safe to be left to burn out naturally.

01:21 – High Street, Starbeck

Harrogate crews responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding. This resulted in a false alarm.

04:05, Station Road, Tadcaster

A crew from Tadcaster responded to an automatic fire alarm. This resulted in a false alarm.
