Incident Summary Day Shift Sunday 9th June 2024

09:22 – West Tanfield

Crew were mobilised to a report of smoke coming from a field. This was a small fire caused by downed power lines, believed to have been due to Geese colliding with the lines. Northern Powergrid in attendance.

09:46 – Broughton Road, Skipton

Crews were mobilised to a report of an adverse reaction to someone mixing cleaning products. Premises evacuated and Crew ventilated property.

10:53 – Lebberston

Crew were mobilised to a report of a child locked in a vehicle. Crews gained entry using small tools.

12:36 – Scarborough Fire Station

1 person self presented at station to have 2 ring removed. Crews used a ring cutter.

12:55 – Chapelfields Road, York

Crew were mobilised to a report of a wheelie bin on fire in front of a property. Crews extinguished using 1 hose reel.

13:14 – Canal Road, Selby

Road traffic collision involving a van and a moped. Moped rider suffered injuries to arm and leg. Crews assisted paramedics.

13:51 – Fulford, York

Crew were mobilised to a fire in a kitchen, extinguished using a hose reel jet. Cause is believed to be a shopping bag left on a hob.

14:51 – Tate Hill, Whitby

Crew were mobilised to a fire on the beach. This was a small fire left unattended. Crews extinguished using a bucket and spade.

Other incidents were attended during the day throughout the county that were false alarms.
