Incident Summary for the Night Shift of Wednesday 6th June

21:13 – Flowergate, Whitby.  A carelessly discarded cigarette caused a small fire in a waste bin. The Whitby crew used a hose reel to extinguish the fire.

21:18 – Hewley Avenue, York.  Reports of a fire on a grassed area were investigated by the York crew, on arrival it was found to be controlled burning. False alarm. Advice was given.

21:38 – Heron Avenue, York.  A discarded TV was deliberately set alight in a park. An Acomb crew used a fire bucket to extinguish.

22:26 – Stillington.  A fire seen by a passer-by turned out to be controlled burning. False alarm. Easingwold crew investigated.

In addition to the above incidents we also attended automatic fire alarm activations in York, Knaresborough, Northallerton, Skipton, Thirsk and Settle. All were false alarms.
