Incident Summary – Wednesday Dayshift, 5th of June 2024

Time: 07:34      Location: Near Sherburn in Elmet

A crew from Tadcaster assisted Ambulance with a difficult extrication of an occupant from their home. Crew power was used to move the casualty to the ambulance and they were left in the care of paramedics.

Time:  10:02     Location: Yafforth Road, Northallerton 

A crew from Northallerton responded to a person stuck inside the lift of a residential building. Crews worked with on site staff to gain access to the lift car using a lift key.

Time: 12:24      Location: Princess Road, Ripon

A crew from Ripon responded to smoke spotted in a residential building from a neighbour. This was caused by cooking fumes. Crews ventilated the property naturally and completed a home fire safety risk check with the occupant.

Time: 12:39     Location: Near B6160, Grassington 

Crews from Grassington and Skipton responded to a vehicle that had impacted an electrical pole and severed the cable causing it to set alight. The vehicle then impacted a residential building. The electrical fire was out prior to crews arrival but crews carried out a full inspection using a thermal imagining camera to find that only some garden shrubs had been burnt from the fire. Crews also found no damage to the building and both the driver and occupants were safe and well. The incident was left in the hands of Northern power after crews notified them of the incident.

Time: 13:50      Location: High Street, Skipton

A crew from Skipton released a person from a toilet cubicle after they had become trapped inside. Crews used small tools only.

Time:  15:05     Location: Swadford Street, Skipton

One of our officers inspected a dangerous structure on a commercial building above a busy pathway. A crew from Harrogate attended with the Ariel ladder platform appliance to remove the structure and the landlord of the building was informed.

 

Crews from Whitby and Scarborough also responded to activated fire alarms in residential buildings. These were all false alarms.
