Incident Summary – Night Shift Tuesday 7th May 2024

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Time: 20:03 Location: Low Petergate, York

York crew attended reports of a bin fire. Upon arrival this was found to be a large commercial bin. The fire destroyed the contents and the cause was thought to be deliberate. The crew used a hose reel to extinguish the fire.

Time: 21:56 Location: Peasholm, Scarborough

The Scarborough second appliance attended a property after police requested us to attend on their behalf to assist ambulance personnel in gaining entry to a property where a casualty was inside. Upon Scarborough crew arriving the paramedics had already gained entry and the female casualty was left in their hands.

Time: 23:19 Location: Off Heslington Road, York

Fire Control were contacted by a male who had become shut out of his living room/kitchen in his flat due to the door mechanism breaking. As the male had left the TV on and needed access to his medication the crew from York attended and were able to gain access for the male using crew power.

Time: 23:34 Location: Off Manor Road, Scarborough

Scarborough second appliance was mobilised to the area after a request from paramedics in assisting them with a female casualty who was some distance from the ambulance. Crew assisted female and paramedics back to vehicle where female was transported to hospital for further treatment.

Time: 02:47 Location: Bramham Drive, Harrogate

Harrogate fire crew gained entry to a domestic premises for Ambulance for a female within whom they had concerns about. After entry gained via a first floor window, occupant was found to be not present.
