Incident Summary – Day Shift, Thursday 2nd May

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 

Time: 07:24  Location: Low Street, Husthwaite

A crew from Thirsk responded to reports of flooding inside a premises, caused by a disconnected pipe. Crews isolated the valve and electrics, and assisted with cleaning up the property.

Time: 07:59  Location: High Street, Boston Spa

A crew from Tadcaster responded alongside colleagues from Wetherby, to an electric vehicle fire. This incident was dealt with by West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Time: 11:21  Location: Catterick

A crew from Richmond responded to reports of a fire to gorse bushes on the road side, measuring approximately 10m by 5m. Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, which was believed to be caused accidentally, by a military flare.

 

In addition to the above incidents, automatic fire alarm activations were attended in Ripon, Selby, York, Harrogate, Acomb, and Scarborough. All were investigated by Fire Service and confirmed as false alarms.
